$1,932,000 California Department of Education – California Partnership Academies Funding will support career/technical academy programs at Elk Grove High School (Agriculture Sales and Service), Laguna Creek High School (Green Energy Technology), Monterey Trail High School (Information Technology, Engineering and Construction Design), Florin High School (Law Academy), two at  Franklin High School (Science, Technology, Engineering and Media and Green Engineering), and Pleasant Grove High School (CADD/COMM).
$1,792,175 U.S. Department of Education – Teaching American History Grant Funding will support a five-year professional development program that will improve historical content knowledge and develop quality teaching strategies among more than 200 secondary teachers.
$474,359 U.S. Department of Education – Readiness and Emergency Management for Schools Grant Funding will support, strengthen and improve emergency management plans at the District and school site level.  The program includes development of enhanced emergency response plans, training for school personnel in emergency management procedures, and coordination with multiple community partners.
$498,552 Central Valley Foundation – English Learner Acceleration Program Funding will support the implementation of an intensive after school academic support program for English Learners at three of our most severely economically disadvantaged elementary schools (David Reese, Samuel Kennedy and Prairie Elementary schools).  This program will prepare 3rd through 5th grade English Learners for the rigorous language demands of secondary education through focused instruction that will strengthen academic language and reinforce knowledge in grammatical structures.

California Department of Education - Tobacco Use Prevention Education

Funding will provide more than $1.5 million over four years to support District-wide tobacco prevention programs and cessation. Services are targeted to most at-risk students, pregnant minors and minor parents and will be coordinated with community-based agencies.

$5,700,880 California Department of Education – 21st Century After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens (ASSETs) Grant Project/Program Receiving the Award:  Funding will support after school academic assistance, youth-led alternative activities and family literacy services at Florin High, Laguna Creek High, Monterey Trail High and Valley High schools.
$2,905,500 California Department of Education - Special Education Teacher Professional Development Grant Project/Program Receiving Award:  Funds will support intensive professional development services designed to improve reading and  literacy development of special education students in grades K-12.

California Department of Education – California Math/Science Partnership Grant

Funding will support the Excellence in Science Instruction (eSCI) program, providing intensive professional development in science content and instruction for 100 elementary teachers.

$414,300 California Department of Education - Enhancing Education Through Technology This grant will provide technology resources to Prairie, David Reese and Mary Tsukamoto Elementary Schools that will increase technology literacy and student achievement in reading comprehension and writing strategies among 4th and 5th grade students.

This grant will support planning for curriculum development in the Culinary Arts Institute at the new Cosumnes Oaks High School.

Ford Motor Company Foundation – Partnership for Advanced Studies (PAS)

Funding will support planning for the EGUSD to establish a west coast center for the Ford PAS professional development series.

$1,258,784 CA Department of Education The 21st Century Community Learning Center grant provides learning opportunities and enrichment programs for students and their parents at elementary sites throughout the District.
$375,000 CA Department of Education The After School Education and Safety grant expanded after school academic and enrichment programs to two new elementary sites and one new middle school site.
$45,000 CA Department of Education The California Instructional School Garden grant provides one-time, site-based funding to 14 elementary schools and 1 high school to support equipment, materials and professional development to create and/or expand instructional school gardens.
$500,000 CA State University Office of the Chancellor The California Academic Partnership Program (CAPP) grant was awarded to Valley and Florin High Schools. This grant supports the Developing Courageous and Creative High School Leadership Program.
$1,271,750 Sacramento First 5 Commission The California First 5 Commission Effective Parenting grant supports parenting education and support programs for the communities served by preschool programs in the Florin and Valley Hi regions.
$2,500 Kaiser Permanente Awarded to the EGUSD Risk Management Department for the Stop the Spread of Germs hand washing campaign.
$420,000 CA Department of Education The Physical Education Teacher Incentive Program grant provides $35,000 to 12 school sites to support the salary and benefits for certificated physical education teachers.
$663,353 CA Department of Education The Pre-Kindergarten and Family Literacy grant supports 8 new preschool classes that will serve 160 additional 4-year-old children with early literacy services.
$498,780 CA Department of Education The School Community Violence Prevention (SCVP) program is a joint partnership between the CDE and the Attorney General designed to prevent and reduce school violence and its negative impact upon the learning environment. Samuel Jackman Middle School and Valley High School will benefit from this five year grant award.
$101,175 CA Department of Education The Teacher Recruitment and Retention program provides funding to improve student learning in Decile 1-3 schools. Three elementary and one middle school will benefit from these funds.

$63,802 CA Department of Education - Teacher Recruitment & Student Support Grant Awarded to Learning Support Department. This grant will support supplementary instruction designed to increase academic achievement at Charles Mack Elementary, Samuel Jackman Middle and Jessie Baker school.
$597,419 CA Department of Education - Tobacco-Use Prevention Education Grant Awarded to Prevention and Intervention Department. This grant will support comprehensive tobacco prevention and intervention services for students at the District's middle schools, high schools and continuation schools.
$80,000 CA Department of Education - Cal Serve Grant Awarded to Curriculum and Professional Learning Department. This grant will support service learning projects at multiple school sites throughout the District.

$147,000 CA Department of Education Through the Reading First Program, Elk Grove Unified School District can strive to reduce the number of special education referrals and continue to ensure that students experiencing difficulties receive high-quality instruction.
$100,000 David and Lucile Packard Foundation Awarded to Learning Support Services Preschool Program to expand the scope of services delivered by teachers and to expand direct support to the community's private center-based and family child-care providers.
$125,000 United States Department of Justice Awarded to Police Services. COPS in Schools will provide funds for one full-time law enforcement officer in Elk Grove to promote safer schools.

$1,878,130 US Department of Education Early Reading First Program Awarded to Learning Support Services Preschool Programs to expand professional learning opportunities for preschool teachers and instructional assistants and to enhance in-class support services by hiring instructional coaches, bilingual teaching associates, and a program specialist.
$25,000 CA Department of Education ARTS Work Visual & Performing Arts Program Awarded to Curriculum and Professional Learning to align Jazz I Dance curriculum across the district and to develop a common set of rubrics for assessment to be used in all Jazz I Dance courses.
$1,655,400 CA Department of Education Enhancing Education Through Technology Program Awarded to Technology Services to incorporate technology-aided instruction in English classes at Samuel Jackman, James Rutter, and T.R. Smedberg Middle Schools to improve student reading and writing skills. This project is conducted in partnership with Folsom Cordova Unified School District.
$100,000 CA Department of Education McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act Program Awarded to Prevention and Intervention to strengthen services to the district's population of homeless students. Funds will be use to better identify those students who are homeless, provide homeless children with basic school essentials, provide transportation to and from school, and train district personnel about the characteristics and needs of homeless children in the district.
