In October 2006, Calvine High School students visited the Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge and participated in a large habitat restoration project. After taking a quick introductory tour of the Refuge and observing flora and fauna up close, students began digging tule tubers for planting in another habitat restored area located nearby.
