Elected to the board of education in 2000, Pamela A. Irey is a deputy sheriff with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department and serves as the youth program coordinator for the department.

She also serves as adviser to the sheriff’s department’s Explorer/Youth program, which works with schools to teach high school students about careers in law enforcement, as well as teaching students discipline and respect, and communication and interviewing skills. Irey has a strong commitment to young people and believes that student involvement and input is critical.

Irey has been an Elk Grove resident the past 12 years and has been very active in the community. She has coached soccer and softball and is a Girl Scout leader. She lives in Elk Grove with her husband and daughter.
