Chet Madison, Sr.
 Elected to the Board of Education in 2000, Chet Madison, Sr. has been involved with the Elk Grove Unified School District for over 35 years as his children attended Charles Mack Elementary School, James Rutter Middle School, Joseph Kerr Middle School and graduated from Valley High School. He has participated on several district advisory committees and is familiar with the role education plays as an essential component of our growing families and developing communities. Chet currently serves as Board President on the EGUSD Board of Education. He also served as Board President in 2005.
He currently serves on the California State Department of Education’s Public School Accountability Act (PSAA) Advisory Committee and EGUSD Audit Finance Committee. Madison has participated in the Standard Setting Panel for the California High School Exit Exam in 2003 and the fifth grade science standards panel in 2004 for the state Department of Education. He presented at the California School Board Association's annual state conference for two years and attended the California School Finance Management Conference and the Governor's Budget workshop in 2003. Currently, Chet is a Board Member of the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation – a group that raises money for scholarship funds for EGUSD students.
Chet has always taken an enthusiastic role in supporting his community. He has coached and managed a Little League team and is an active member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
Chet has worked for Consolidated Freightways for more than 33 years and retired as their Group Operations Manager. Chet now works as a Flooring Consultant for S&G Flooring. He graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in business administration and went on to serve in the U.S. Army as a crew chief in the first Aviation Brigade. He is also a Vietnam veteran.
Chet and his wife, Sarah Jo, enjoy spending time with their family, which includes ten grandchildren – all of whom attend schools within the Elk Grove district.
