The Connections Department serves students with disabilities at EHMS. Teachers in the Connections Department teach classes designed for students with Individual Education Plans, consult and collaborate with other teachers, as well as teach general education Advocacy sections.
ELA Lab 7
This class is designed for students with IEPs who score Far Below Basic on the California Standards test taken in grade 6. Students are taught using the goals outlined in the IEP with an emphasis on reading and writing. Grade level standards necessary for preparation for high school English and the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) are emphasized. It is taught by a teacher in the Connections department and is limited to 15 students.

Pre-Algebra Lab 7

Students are taught skills outlined in their IEP as well as grade level standards necessary for preparation for high school algebra and the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE). It is taught by a teacher in the Connections department and is limited to 15 students.
Algebra Readiness Lab 8
This class is designed for students with IEPs who scored Far Below Basic on the California Standards test taken in grade 8. Students are taught skills outlined in their IEP as well as grade level standards necessary for preparation for high school algebra and the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE). It is taught by a teacher in the Connections department and is limited to 15 students.
N.B. All Connections department classes are year long (4 terms) classes.
