Textbooks
The library is also responsible for textbook circulation.  Students receive textbooks four times a year.  Students are requested follow rules for keeping their textbooks in good shape.  Fines are assessed for lost and damaged textbooks.  Report cards are held until fines are paid.  A special contract (payment plan) may be set up with parents and students for payment of lost materials.  If a book is returned within a year of the checkout date, the patron will have their money returned.  In the case of stolen items, a standard stolen property report should be filled out.
The following guidelines should help students properly care for their textbooks:
Do's
Dont's
Keep your books dry and clean.
Carry any liquid in your backpack.
Keep your books covered at all times.
Don’t leave your textbooks in the classroom.
Keep you books in your possession
(do not lend books to other students).
Don’t throw or drop your textbooks.
Write your full name (only once) in ink in the space provided on the inside cover of all your textbooks.
Don’t mark in your textbooks.
..
Don’t use sticky book covers.
..
Don’t tape book covers to the books (tape cover to itself).
7 day rule
Check the condition of each book carefully.  You may be held responsible for any prior damage that is not reported within 7 days of checkout. Report damage to a library staff member. Only a library staff member may make damage notes in the textbook.
We highly recommend that you waterproof your backpack and keep a plastic trash bag in your backpack to put all your books in should it rain.
