General:

• Attention Class of 2012! Freshmen Panther Pride in da house! These next 4 years are going to be great! Get them started right and come to the Welcome Dance this Friday. You don’t need a date, so bring your friends, or come alone and make some new friends. Your freshmen class advisors, Mr. Garcia and Ms. Slip form on page 36 of your Student Handbook. • Our welcome back dance is Friday, September 5! Tickets are on sale in the Student Store for $5 with your ASB sticker, $7 without your ASB sticker, and $10 at the door. Come join the fun! Class of 2012 it’s your first dance in high school! 09/04 S. Goering

• Are you interested in a career in law enforcement? ROP is offering a year-long class at Pleasant Grove High School that will introduce various positions available in Criminal Justice. Please see Mrs. Captein in Room J-12. 09/04 J. Captein

Athletics:

• Attention all staff and students. Thursday night your Florin Football team begins its season with the Annual Jamboree Scrimmage at Sheldon High School. Come out and get a season preview of your team. We will face Elk Grove, Stagg, Burbank, and Galt. JV begins at 4:00 p.m. and Varsity at 6:00 p.m. GO PANTHERS!!! 09/04 M. Morales

• Attention all students. Last call for anyone wanting to come out for water polo. See Coach Coopee in P-4 before school or after school. 09/05 C. Coopee

• Girls -- ready for Powderpuff? It’s coming up! Sign-up during your lunch outside of the Commons. A mandatory meeting will be held on Friday, September 19, after school in Room B-3. 09/05 S. Goering

• Attention! Are you interested in playing basketball for this year’s Florin High School basketball team? Then come to an important meeting, Thursday, September 4th, at 3:45 p.m. in the Commons. All grade levels should come. Remember, this is an IMPORTANT meeting, so don’t miss out! 09/04 C. Norman

Seniors:

• Senior payment plans starts September 8 – that’s next Monday in the Ticket Booth. First payment is $50. You can pay from September 8 – 12. This includes things like Senior Picnic, Senior Ball, ASB sticker, Senior t-shirts, yearbook, and more! 09/05 S. Goering *

• If you haven’t taken the SAT or ACT test for college application – do it now. September 9 is the deadline for the October SAT test. 09/05 K. Best *

• If you are a U.S. citizen, have a 2.0 or above GPA, are involved in school and community activities, and have a financial need, apply for the Horatio Alger Scholarship. Scholarship amount can range from $2,500 - $20,000. Come to Career Center for the scholarship list. 09/04 K. Best

• It’s our last year! Let’s represent! We still have t-shirts and lanyards for sale in the student store. You can get one ’09 shirt and a ’09 lanyard for the low cost of 20$! Come get yours today! 09/04 S. Goering
