ROY HERBURGER VISION STATEMENT

All students at Roy Herburger Elementary School will be encouraged and challenged to:

  • Excel in an environment that is both physically and emotionally nurturing while being intellectually challenging.
  • Be proficient readers and writers and mathematicians. Teachers will instill in the students a love for reading, writing, and math as they go beyond the standards to expand their skill in fluency, comprehension, authorship, and taking math into the everyday life skills.
  • Participate in intellectual competitions to expand student natural skills and challenge in alternative areas.
  • Participate in fine arts in a variety of learning modalities through the visual and physical participation in art, music, movement, drama, oral language, and readings.

All teachers at Roy Herburger Elementary School will:

  • Use technology as a tool in cross curricular learning applications. Teachers will incorporate technology as a part of their lessons, such as, Accelerated Reader to increase skills for students in all reading areas.
  • Teachers will be encouraged to excellence in education and strive to provide students with a challenging, standards-based education.
  • Teachers will work as a team to analyze best practices and California Standards for the Teaching Profession. They will analyze data to monitor and adjust their instruction to meet the needs of all students.

The Roy Herburger Elementary School community will:

  • Work as a team to enrich the education of ALL students.
  • Be a part of the classroom environment to encourage a love of learning.
  • Help to extend learning beyond the classroom to help to instill a love for learning.

The entire Roy Herburger Community, Staff and Students will:

  • Develop skills and attitudes that will allow ALL people to function naturally and effectively in a diverse world.
