Royal Reader Contest

Librarian: Ms. Breault

The Royal Reader contest lasts for 5 weeks and ends on March 14. In this small amount of time students have the opportunity to read up to eight books, a goal that only a few will reach. For the California Young Reader contest to take place Librarians around the country over the past year read 300-400 books to determine which would be included in the contest (that's more than one book a day)! They selected the best 12 works at four age levels for kids to read. The age levels were primary, intermediate, middle school, and high school. Our students read the intermediate through high school books.

Students at Kerr have a chance to determine the top books among the nine for their level. All Kerr students who complete at least two books are invited to the Royal Reader Breakfast to be held in March. When students complete a minimum of six books they will be allowed to vote for their top choices. The top choices will appear on this page in late March. Readers of all nine books receive a chance to be included in a drawing to be chosen Principal for a Day!
