What's Happening - Calendar of Events – December 3-8

Here is what’s going on in the Elk Grove Unified School District during the week of December 3-8:

December 3:  Kindergarten registration for the 2008/2009 school year begins at all EGUSD elementary schools today.

December 4:  Parents of Florin High School students are invited to spend a day on campus during Parent Visitation Day starting at 8:15 a.m.  The day begins with a meeting with school administrators and then parents can attend classes and each lunch with their students.  At the end of the day, parents attend a final question and answer session.

December 5:  Franklin Elementary School students will enjoy two Inspector Iwannano assemblies entitled “Character Clues” at 8:15 a.m. and 9:15 a.m.  The assembly will cover the topics of respect, trustworthiness, caring, responsibility, fairness and good citizenship.

December 6:  Valley High School will host a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Tour information night at 7:30 p.m.  EGUSD and the United College Action Network (U-CAN) are partnering to provide an opportunity for students to visit HBCUs in June 2008.

December 7:  Harriet Eddy Middle School invites parents to their First Friday Parent Forum at 8 a.m.  This month’s forum will focus on school activities.

December 7:  Students at John Ehrhardt Elementary School will have the chance to participate in a WordMasters Competition from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.  WordMasters is a nationwide program that encourages higher-level word comprehension and logical abilities.
