What's Happening - Calendar of Events – March 16-21March 16, 2009 Here is what’s going on in the Elk Grove Unified School District March 16-21: March 16-21: Students at Arnold Adreani Elementary School will work with the Missoula Children’s Theater to present their rendition of “Rumpelstilskin.” Students will audition for the play on Monday and have two performances – one on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. and the other as a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for children. March 18: Parents of incoming 7th grade students at T.R. Smedberg Middle School on tracks B and D are invited to attend a Course Selection meeting from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Parents will be offered the option of either listening to the program presentation or completing the forms on their own. Completed course selection forms are due on April 3, 2009. March 18: Florin High School, in partnership with Elk Grove Adult and Community Education, will hold Parent Project, Sr. parenting classes in Spanish at 6 p.m. Parent Project, Sr. classes teach parents how to deal with difficult teens. March 18: David Reese Elementary School will host a Family Science Night at 6:30 p.m. Representatives from the Explorit Science Center from Davis, CA and Uncle Jer’s Traveling Bees will give a presentation on a wide range of science topics. Student science fair projects will also be on display. March 19: Parents of incoming kindergarten students are invited to attend a Kindergarten Parent Night at Arthur C. Butler Elementary School from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room. Parents will have the opportunity to meet the kindergarten teachers, familiarize themselves with the campus and learn about kindergarten standards and incoming expectations. March 20: Fathers and father figures of students at Sierra Enterprise Elementary School are invited to attend the 1st Annual “Donuts with Dad” event from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. During the hour, a presentation will be given about the Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) Program. March 20: Students at Katherine L. Albiani Middle School will have a chance to participate in a Lip Sync competition during both lunches. In addition to the Lip Sync competition, students will also enjoy a Food Faire during both lunches as well. March 20: Franklin High School will hold their annual Crab Feed fundraiser at the S.E.S. Hall at 6 p.m. The crab feed, sponsored by the Franklin High School Booster Club and leadership students, includes all-you-can-eat marinated crab, a live auction, a raffle, dancing and a no-host bar. Tickets are $40 per person.
