Elk Grove High School marching band named “Best of Sacramento” by Sacramento Magazine October 28, 2009 The Thundering Herd, Elk Grove High School’s marching band has earned a Best of Sacramento 2009 award from Sacramento Magazine. Elk Grove’s band was named the best high school marching band. The Best of Sacramento awards are voted on by readers of Sacramento Magazine. Awards are given to businesses and organizations in the areas of food and drink, beauty, media, shopping and services, sports and fitness, entertainment and philanthropy. The Elk Grove High School marching band will receive the award at the Best of Sacramento Party on November 19 at the Sacramento Convention Center.
