Philosophy of teaching: Students really have only themselves to learn. They need to discover what it is that motivates them to succeed. My job is to nurture and guide them. Each student will receive a structured, standards-based, and safe learning environment. I can sum up my personal philosophy on teaching by using the phrase that I constantly repeat to my students in class: Preparation + Perspiration = Success.

Philosophy of Teaching: “Real education means to inspire people to live more abundantly, to learn to begin with life as they find it and make it better” (Carter G. Woodson, 1933). Teaching a child is more than just distributing information. Understanding that every child learns differently, I strive to adjust to the learning styles of all my students, allowing them to excel academically, develop confidence, and become contributing citizens of society. I strongly believe that once you connect with a child personally, you have begun the process of inspiring them to believe in themselves. My hope is that each child that I encounter, whether they are in my class or not, will find something within themselves that will give them the drive they need to succeed in all they do.
