Hazard Communication (Haz-Com) Program
The purpose of the Elk Grove Unified School District’s Hazard Communication Plan is to provide District employees and outside contractors working in the Elk Grove Unified School District with standard operating procedures for handling of hazardous substances and potentially hazardous substances, pursuant to Cal/OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard, Section 5194, of Title 8, California Code of Regulations (CCR) and 29 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) 1910.1200
This program is intended to provide information and guidelines regarding hazardous chemicals/substances and the identification and control of hazardous chemicals/substances as they may appear in the workplace. This program is intended to fulfill the requirements of applicable California and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration Regulations.
Emergency Response Guidebook - A Guidebook for first responsders during the initial phase of dangerous goods/hazardous materials incidents.
Annual Chemical Inventory Form - must be maintained regularly and MSDS must be kept on file for all chemicals in the workplace.
