The purpose of the Mandated Reporter program is to provide information and guidelines for Mandated Reporters which include all district employees who observe, have knowledge of, or have reasonable suspicion that child abuse and/or neglect has occurred. This manual complies with the State of California‘s Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act, based upon the State of California Penal Code, the State of California Education Code, and Elk Grove Unified School District Administrative Procedures, and Board Policy. This manual also provides access to procedures for a parent/guardian to report suspected child abuse at a school site to appropriate child protective agencies.
