The Elk Grove Unified School District proudly salutes teachers, administrators, staff, students, parents and community members for 50 years of educational excellence.  The 2008/2009 school year will be the 50th year of educating students as a unified school district. 

Throughout the year the district will celebrate through a series of activities including a documentary, district-wide contests, time capsule, history month and talent shows. Schools will also be provided with curriculum resources that teachers can use to integrate EGUSD area history into California history lessons.

The theme for the celebration is “Elk Grove Unified School District Goes Gold – Celebrating 50 Years of Educational Excellence.”
