DREYER'S FOUNDATION
Grants will be given to K-12 public education and programs that help students to succeed in core academic subjects and graduate to post secondary education and/or vocational training. Priority will be given to programs, either in-school or after school, which are provided in sequential, consistent basis to students throughout the year. Priority is given to programs that (1) affect a significant number of youngsters; (2) that teach young people how to learn; and (3) are unique and creative.
Large grant proposals (over $3,000) are reviewed on an annual basis and must be submitted prior to January 15th of each year. An organization may submit only one proposal annually.
Small grant proposals (under $3,000) are considered every month. To be considered, the application must arrive by the 7th day of the month, by 5:00 p.m.

EZRA
JACK KEATS FOUNDATION
The Ezra Jack Keats Foundation makes
mini-grants to school and public libraries for
programs that encourage literacy and creativity
in children. Programs that will be considered
include innovative and creative projects that involve art and children's literature. There is an application online that
can be completed and mailed to the Foundation.

INTERNATIONAL PAPER COMPANY FOUNDATION
The International Paper Company Foundation addresses existing and emerging educational needs, as well as short-term, critical civic needs where the company operates. In regard to education, the foundation focuses on environmental education, literacy, and minority career development.
Eligibility: 501(c)(3) organizations and certain municipal, county, state and federal entities, such as school districts.
Funds: $5,000

PACIFICARE
FOUNDATION
PacifiCare Foundation's mission is to improve the quality of lives of the disadvantaged or under served in areas where PacifiCare Health Systems does business.
The foundation accomplishes its mission primarily through four focus areas including:
- Child/Youth - Including child care, youth activity programs, programs to support at-risk youth and counseling programs.
- Education - Including school programs that promote self-esteem, encourage academic achievement and the development of specific skills, literacy programs, and training programs.
- Human/Social Services - Including programs that provide housing, shelters, education, community development, crime prevention, food, transportation and other social services for targeted populations.
- Senior - Including senior social services, nutrition, education, volunteer, and adult daycare programs.

TARGET
EDUCATION GRANTS
Target supports education through initiatives that focus on teachers and classrooms and early childhood reading. National programs include Take Charge of Education, a school fundraising program and the Target Field Trip Grants Program, designed to help teachers bring learning to life for students. Target also supports schools and educational organizations through local grant donations.

VERIZON FOUNDATION
The Verizon Foundation is in the business of improving lives in literacy, knowledge and a readiness for the 21st Century.
Specifically, we help people to:
- Increase their literacy and educational achievement
- Avoid being an abuser or a victim of domestic violence
- Achieve and sustain their health and safety
Eligible organizations seeking grants from the Verizon Foundation must be prepared to track and report program outcomes as well as specific results that demonstrate measurable human impact. In the grant application, organizations must indicate what outcomes are targeted through programming and what results, as specified on the grant application, the organization will measure.
Funds: Varies. Averages $5,000 to $10,000
Application Deadline: accepts applications January 1 through October 31.
