One of
our goals at Edna Batey is to use technology to benefit parents
by providing quicker, more reliable communication.
While
we will maintain the same standards-based instruction on language
arts, math, science, and arts, we will also pilot new uses
of technology that could later be expanded to other schools
in the district.
This will
include electronic report cards and may eventually allow parent
access to grades and testing information on-line.
Teachers
will use technology to easily share student performance data
to assist lesson planning, and to supplement their instruction
with lessons available on the computer for students. In addition,
teachers will be able to do some of their professional learning
on-line.
We are
also excited about using technology in the classroom to help
teachers personalize education for each student and to help
our English Learners become proficient in English.
