Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge May 2007

In early May 2007, Calvine High School students visited the Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge and participated in a large habitat restoration project. This project involved digging up tules from one area of the refuge, and planting them in another area near the Visitor's Center. The timing for the successful completion of this project was essential to prevent the propagation of non-native species of flora in the recently restored pond area.
