Dear Elk Grove Unified Families,

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through many logistical hurdles during this emergency hiatus caused by the threat of the COVID-19 virus. In today’s update, we would like to share the following information related to upcoming District actions and plans moving forward:

First, please know that EGUSD situational critical teams have been activated and will continue to be in place to work on a number of current tasks and future assignments. Currently, the following task force teams have been activated with current key objectives:

Food and Nutrition Team

      • Provide daily drive-thru meals available for pick-up at select locations throughout EGUSD.

Education Services Team

      • Work with teachers, counselors and students to successfully complete the 3rd Term/2nd Trimester. The team recognizes that there will be many nuances and situations that will need to be addressed.

Special Education Team

      • Collaborate with Special Education experts to develop a plan to address the educational needs of special education students.

Before and After School Daycare Team

      • Collaborate with educational partners and daycare providers to develop a safe pandemic plan that can accommodate daycare needs in line with national, state and county guidelines.

Broadcast and Technology Team

      • Coordinate communications resources and technology to streamline remote communications, create broadcast hours and develop other remote type communications methods and tools.

Distance Learning/Continuing Education Team

      • Coordinate resources and collaborate with educational partners for Distance Learning at elementary, middle and high school levels.

Secondly, all school facilities are closed to normal operations including all EGUSD-organized events until further notice. The re-opening dates for all school facilities will be provided in future communications pending national, state and county guidance. EGUSD officials are developing educational options for all students, including those with special needs.

Lastly, please stay tuned for our ongoing daily communications and we continue to ask that all residents pay attention to the State’s direction to adhere to social distancing measures and self-isolation if symptomatic of the COVID-19 virus.

Thank You,
EGUSD Leadership
