Dear Students Families and Staff,

Graduations, promotions, vaccinations, summer learning, job opportunities, returning to school 5 days a week at the start of the new school year and a new technology tool are the subjects for today’s update. Before we list out all of those activities, we want to remind everyone, that Sacramento County continues to be in the red tier, so we encourage everyone to keep wearing a mask in public settings, avoid indoor gatherings and keep washing those hands. By working together and encouraging all who are eligible to get vaccinated, we can look forward to going to school 5 days a week and having students sign up to participate in activities and programs they love at and after school.

Graduations: Congratulations Class of 2021!

Each high school will be communicating the details of their school’s graduation ceremony. The press release with the schedule was published earlier this week. Please contact your student’s school if you have specific graduation related questions.

Promotions: Elementary and Middle School

Given the need to follow current safety guidelines for the planning of the end of the year events, promotions look different this year. Our elementary sites are offering virtual, drive through, in-person, or a combination of the three options, depending on site capacity and ability to meet spatial needs. Please contact your child(ren’)s school for details regarding kindergarten and sixth grade promotions. Our middle schools will be offering drive through promotions, due to the large sizes of our eighth grade classes. Please look for information from your child’s school for specifics around these events.

Certification of Completion Graduation at Jessie Baker School

An outdoor in person ceremony will take place at Jessie Baker School on the track for graduates of Jessie baker School and the EGUSD Adult Transition Program. Each graduate will be able to invite 4 guests.

      • Adult Transition Program Graduates, Wednesday, May 19, 2021, 2:30-4:30 p.m.
      • Jessie Baker School Graduates, Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 10:30 a.m.

Vaccinations: EGUSD Encourages Anyone Eligible to Get Vaccinated for COVID-19

California Northstate University (CNSU) has more Pfizer appointments available!

Address to CNSU clinics: 9650 West Taron Drive, Elk Grove, CA, 95757

Vaccine appointment availability has increased significantly recently. Eligibility is open to anyone 16 or older who lives or works in Sacramento County. As a reminder, only Pfizer vaccine is approved for 16 and 17 year olds. Those looking for Pfizer are advised to act while availability is good as we do not anticipate an increase in allocation when Pfizer becomes approved for 12 to 15 year olds, which could happen as early as May.

If you or anyone you know is interested in being vaccinated, we have information on available clinics posted on our vaccine registration webpage.  Additional clinic information is available on MyTurn and VaccineFinder.
