Dear Elk Grove Unified Students, Parents and Families,

As our students settle into their classes, everyone is doing an exceptional job keeping our schools safe and open for in-person learning. Thank you! Today, we have an update on our ongoing COVID-19 mitigation strategies, notifications and monitoring. We also want to share important college recruitment information and we have more responses to some newly asked questions from our community, which were added to our Updated 2021-2022 Back to School During a Pandemic FAQ document.

EGUSD COVID-19 Mitigation Strategies Update

In response to a wide request asking for daily updated COVID-19 case information, we made the necessary adjustments, thanks to an increase in staffing, and further enhanced the dashboard to include a 7-day average case rate and line chart. In analyzing the past four weeks of our data, we see the District’s trend pattern is similar to the County and our case rate is statistically significantly lower than the County. These observations lead us to firmly believe that all of our mitigation, response and communication/promotion efforts in concert and combination are working and enabling in-person learning and activities to be offered with confidence and as robust as possible. Please visit our EGUSD COVID-19 Safety Plan to review our mitigation strategies. As we continue to manage this pandemic with in-person learning, we will continue to respond swiftly and effectively to changing pandemic conditions and make necessary adjustments per State/County health mandates and guidelines. You can view the updated EGUSD COVID Dashboard online.
