EGUSD Board of Education

Elk Grove Unified School District is governed by an elected seven member Board of Education. The board members represent seven geographic areas and are elected at large for four year terms.

2010 Census Trustee Map Revisions
On September 21, 2011, the Board of Education took action to adopt new trustee area maps in accordance with federal law and the Equal Protection Clause.

2012-2013 Board Meeting Schedule
The Board meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. The schedule can vary during the summer and holidays. Meetings are held at the Robert L. Trigg Education Center, 9510 Elk Grove-Florin Road. For more information, call (916) 686-7700.

In addition to the regularly scheduled June 18, 2013, Board of Education meeting at 7 p.m., the Board will hold two special meetings at 4:30 p.m. on June 17, 2013, and June 26, 2013.

2013-2014 Board Meeting Schedule
Following is the schedule of regular Board meetings for the 2013-14 school year that was approved by the Board of Education on April 16, 2013. Meetings begin at 7 p.m. with open session and closed sessions scheduled prior to the regular meetings as necessary:

July 1, 2013	January 7 and 21, 2014
August 20, 2013	February 4 and 18, 2014
September 3 and 17, 2013	March 4 and 18, 2014
October 1 and 15, 2013	April 1 and 15, 2014
November 5 and 19, 2013	May 6 and 20, 2014
December 10, 2013	June 3 and 17, 2014

Changes to the 2013-2014 Board of Education Meeting Calendar

July	The July 2 and 16 meetings were cancelled. In their place, a meeting was scheduled for July 1.
August	The August 6 meeting was cancelled.
December	The December 3 and 17 meetings were cancelled. In their place, a meeting was scheduled for December 10.

	Chet Madison, Sr. President Trustee Area 3 Elected to the Board of Education in 2000, Chet Madison, Sr. has been involved with the Elk Grove Unified School District for over 35 years as his children attended Charles Mack Elementary School, James Rutter Middle School, Joseph Kerr Middle School and graduated from Valley High School. 	Jeanette Amavisca Clerk Trustee Area 2 Jeanette Amavisca has been a dedicated member to the Elk Grove Unified School District’s Board of Education since 1981. During her tenure on the board, 39 new schools have opened in the district. She has served in the capacity of Board president and clerk several times and has been a member of many board committees, including the Audit Committee, Architect Committee, Teen Pregnancy Prevention Advisory Committee, School Safety Task Force, and Recreation Summit. 	Priscilla Cox Trustee Area 5 Priscilla Cox has an extensive background in education and community service. Elected to the Elk Grove Unified School District Board of Education in November of 1994, Cox was selected as Board President in 1998, 2004 and 2010. Read More Priscilla Cox

	Carmine S. Forcina Trustee Area 7 Carmine S. Forcina was elected to the Elk Grove Unified School District Board of Education in November 2012. Mr. Forcina has lived in the Sacramento region for the past eleven years. He has several grandchildren who attend Elk Grove Unified schools and has spent time volunteering at each site. 	Steve Ly Trustee Area 6 Steve Ly is an educator who has devoted his professional career to educating and developing young people. 	Anthony “Tony” Perez Trustee Area 1 Anthony "Tony" Perez

	Bobbie Singh-Allen Trustee Area 4 Bobbie Singh-Allen was appointed as a board member to represent Trustee Area 4 on August 16, 2012. Ms. Singh-Allen is an active member of the Elk Grove Unified community, dedicated to improving the lives of families. Read More Bobbie Singh-Allen
