EGUSD Board of Education

Elk Grove Unified School District is governed by an elected seven member Board of Education. The board members represent seven geographic areas and are elected at large for four year terms.

2010 Census Trustee Map Revisions
On September 21, 2011, the Board of Education took action to adopt new trustee area maps in accordance with federal law and the Equal Protection Clause.

The Board meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. The schedule can vary during the summer and holidays. Meetings are held at the Robert L. Trigg Education Center, 9510 Elk Grove-Florin Road. For more information, call 916.686.7700.

Changes to the 2011-2012 Board of Education Meeting Calendar

May 2012

The May 1 and 15 meetings were cancelled. In their place, meetings will be held on May 8 and 22.

Changes to the 2012-2013 Board of Education Meeting Calendar

July 2012	The July 3 and 17 meetings were cancelled. In their place, a meeting was scheduled for July 10, 2012.
August 2012	The August 7 meeting was cancelled.
November 2012	The November 6 and 20 meetings were cancelled. In their place a meeting was scheduled for November 13, 2012.
December 2012	The December 18, 2012 meeting was cancelled due to winter break.
January 2013	The January 2 and 15 meetings were cancelled. In their place meetings will be held on January 8 and 22, 2013.

	Chet Madison, Sr. President Trustee Area 3 Elected to the Board of Education in 2000, Chet Madison, Sr. has been involved with the Elk Grove Unified School District for many years as his children attended Charles Mack Elementary School, James Rutter Middle School, Joseph Kerr Middle School and graduated from Valley High School. 	Alfred “Al” Rowlett Clerk Trustee Area 7 Alfred “Al” Rowlett was appointed a board member to represent Trustee Area 7 on Monday, August 17, 2009. 	Jeanette Amavisca Trustee Area 2 Jeanette Amavisca has been a dedicated member to the Elk Grove Unified School District’s Board of Education since 1981. During her tenure on the board, 39 new schools have opened in the district. She has served in the capacity of Board president and clerk several times and has been a member of many board committees, including the Audit Committee, Architect Committee, Teen Pregnancy Prevention Advisory Committee, School Safety Task Force, and Recreation Summit. 	Pollyanna Cooper-LeVangie Trustee Area 4 Pollyanna Cooper-LeVangie was appointed to the Board of Education in 2001. She is a product of the Elk Grove district, having graduated from Elk Grove High School. Read More Pollyanna Cooper-LeVangie

	Priscilla Cox Trustee Area 5 Priscilla Cox has an extensive background in education and community service. She was elected to the Elk Grove Unified School District Board of Education in November of 1994 and was selected as Board President in 1998 and 2004. Priscilla taught math and science at the secondary level for 10 years, first with the Long Beach Unified School District and later with the Folsom Cordova Unified School District in Sacramento County. 	William Lugg, Jr. Trustee Area 1 Bill Lugg, elected to the Board of Education in 1983, has been involved with education for many years. His career includes serving as purchasing agent and fiscal services coordinator for the North Sacramento School District and serving as Business Manager for Center Unified School District. 	Jacob L. Rambo Trustee Area 6 Jacob L. Rambo was appointed a board member to represent Trustee Area 6 on Tuesday, March 27, 2012. Mr. Rambo has long-standing ties to the Elk Grove Unified School District. He is a graduate of Joseph Kerr Middle School and Elk Grove High School, where he was active in student government, sports, and an all-state mock trial attorney. Read More Jacob L. Rambo
