Brian Myers

Brian Myers was first elected to the Board of Education in 1988 and then re-elected in 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008. He is particularly interested in setting high standards for students and giving them the means to reach those standards, providing safe classrooms and quality materials, and ensuring that students have the tutoring and technology they need.
As a board member, he has helped raise the district's high school graduation requirements, the college entrance rate to double what it was before he took office, and overseen the construction of almost 30 new schools since 1988.
Brian is a Deputy District Attorney for Sacramento County since 1977. In nearly 25 years with the District Attorney's Office, Brian has prosecuted numerous high-profile cases and has specialized in vehicular homicide cases involving drugs or alcohol. Brian graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a bachelor's degree in journalism, and earned his law degree from McGeorge School of Law.
An active member of the community, Brian serves as President of the board of directors for Home Field Advantage and has served as chairman of the Wilton Parks and Recreation Board, a member of the board of directors for the March of Dimes, and a member of the Sheriff's Community Action Panel.
Brian lives in the Wilton area with his wife, Linda, and their two children, both of whom attend or have graduated from Elk Grove schools.
"In my role as a School Board member, I hope to contribute the positive lessons we teach our young people so that they never end up seeing me in my District Attorney capacity as they grow older."
