Students are eligible to take numerous Mathematics Courses, based on a combination of five criteria:

(1) Teacher recommendation
(2) National Standardized Test scores (minimum scores required for advanced courses)
(3) First week Diagnostic Test score
(4) Previous course level and grade
(5) Demonstration of study habits and skills in previous and current course
(6) Math Diagnostic Testing Project Readiness Scores

Eighth grade students are currently enrolled in the following courses:

Pre-Algebra II (eighth grade California Standards course)
CP Algebra One (University of California A-G College Prep course--admission requirements)
CP Geometry (University of California A-G College Prep course--admission requirements)

A small number of eighth grade students are enrolled in more advanced courses offered at Elk Grove High School.
