New parenting class at EGUSD

September 11, 2009

The Elk Grove Unified School District, in conjunction with Laguna Creek High School’s ASSETs After School Program “Cardinal University,” will offer a Parent Project Sr. parenting class, scheduled to start on Wednesday, September 23.

Parent Project Sr. is a comprehensive, award-winning training program for parents of teenagers ages 12-18. This 10-week training series is taught in a supportive environment that provides parents with effective techniques designed to help teenagers become responsible, successful adults. Parents will learn how to stop arguments with their child, improve their child’s school performance, prevent or intervene in alcohol and other drug use and how to find resources to help children between ages 12-18 years.

The classes are free, with a $10 materials fee. Classes will meet on Wednesday nights from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. from September 23rd to December 9th at Laguna Creek High School (9050 Vicino Drive, Elk Grove 95758). Classes will not meet on November 25th.

For more information or to register for the class, please contact Letitia Harvey at 916-683-1339.
