RSS News Feeds

What is RSS?

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, which is an internet based technology that allows the distribution of Web content through an RSS reader. Using RSS, news articles, press releases, and other content can be gathered together and distributed via news feeds on an RSS server connected to the internet.

Internet users can subscribe to these feeds in an RSS reader (also referred to as a news reader or aggregator).

RSS feeds allow you to receive news from Rutter as it is published online. It cuts out you having to check our website on a regular basis for updates.

How do I use RSS feeds?

To receive an RSS news feed, you need an RSS reader. There are many different RSS readers available for you to use. Internet Explorer 7 has a built in RSS reader. Some search engines, such as Google or Yahoo! offer free RSS readers on their websites. Other companies have RSS readers that require you to download a browser plug-in or a stand alone application that must be installed on your computer.

To subscribe to Rutter’s RSS feed, copy the feed URL below and paste it into your reader, or, you can right click with your mouse on the rss image on the Bulletin page and choose copy shortcut, and then paste that shortcut in your reader.
