Starting in 2017-2018 school year, the District is moving to a new fully integrated Student Information System, Synergy by Edupoint. This one system will replace both EGUSD’s current student information system (SISWeb) and School Loop. Synergy will provide access to both parents and students, just like School Loop. However, with Synergy, Parents/Guardians will use a single sign-on to access all of their children’s information regardless of school. Parents will access the portal using ParentVUE and students will access using StudentVUE.
Why a new system? EGUSD’s current student information system was launched in 2003. In order to meet the high expectations of EGUSD’s 21st century educational mission and comply with increasing demands of external federal and state mandates, a review committee composed of a wide range of stakeholders, determined that EGUSD needed a new state of the art Student Information System.
ParentVUE helps parents/guardians stay informed and connected by providing day-to-day insight into their child’s academic experience.
The new ParentVUE Portal will provide parents with:
- Single sign-on – one login for each parent, which will allow access to all students associated with that parent across the district in any grade or school
- Big picture information – ability to view attendance, immunization compliance, transcripts, graduation status, and more
- Ability to update information – emergency contacts, physician and phone numbers
- Grades and assignments – know if your student is on track academically and know when assignments have been given and are due
- Class website access – know what is happening in your children’s classroom(s)
- Ability to stay connected with teachers – communicate with teachers
- Web Portal and Mobile App – Easy access from anywhere and anytime
Parents will need to register for a ParentVUE account using an activation code and instructions given out at the beginning of the school year by each school site. Instructions on how to register and update information in the system will be included on the activation code handout. If you lose your activation code or need another one, please contact your student’s school.

Do I have to go to my child’s school to get the information necessary to create a ParentVUE Account?
Yes. We want to make sure that your child’s information is secure, so this needs to be an in-person transaction.
Can I use the same login for all my children enrolled in Elk Grove Unified Schools?
Yes. Your ParentVUE login gives you access to information on all your children enrolled at Elk Grove Unified Schools.
I have multiple children attending EGUSD schools, but I’m only seeing some of them in ParentVue, what should I do?
If you are not seeing one or more of your children when logged into ParentVUE, it can be an indication of a duplicate parent record for you in the system (your name could be spelled differently, etc.). Please contact your student’s school (the student you are unable to see in ParentVUE) to correct this issue.
Can I login to ParentVUE with my email?
The Parent email will not work as the ParentVUE User ID unless the email was entered as the User ID at the time of ParentVUE registration.
What if I forget my ParentVUE password?
Click the “Forget your password?” link under the login button on the ParentVUE login page. Enter the primary email address that you set up for your account or your account user ID and click Send Email. The system will email you a link to change your password. If you have lost access to the primary email account, you will need to go to your child’s school and get a new activation code. The school can also look up your account user ID.
I clicked on “Forget your password?” in ParentVUE and never received an email response. What do I do?
First, check to be sure that you are using the primary email account that you used when activating your ParentVUE account.
Second, in order to access your EGUSD ParentVUE account, you must go to the Elk Grove Unified School District ParentVUE portal. https://ca-egusd-psv.edupoint.com
It has come to our attention that several parents are doing Google searches for ParentVUE and clicking on the first results – which is most likely a link to another district’s ParentVUE portal. In this case, parents would not receive an email, due to not being registered users for that school district.
Can two guardians have separate login information?
Yes, schools provide a separate ParentVUE activation code for each parent or guardian, therefore login information is separate
Can I change my password?
Yes, You can change your password using the My Account tab. Click the Change Password link in the yellow section at the top of the page.
I’m locked out of my ParentVUE account. How do I re-enable my account?
For security reasons, ParentVUE accounts are disabled if a password is entered incorrectly multiple times. To re-enable your account, please contact your child’s school.
What do I do if I see inaccurate information through ParentVUE?
If you see inaccurate demographic information, which you are unable to update in your ParentVUE account, go to your child’s school office, so they can update your information.
Is there an app I can use?
Yes, there is a ParentVUE app for iOS and Android. To activate your account initially, you can either go to the EGUSD ParentVUE portal using a web browser or activate your account using the ParentVUE app. Then you can use the app to check your student’s information.
I tried to email my child’s teacher and got the following message on my computer “default email application has not been set up.” What does this mean?

StudentVUE helps students stay informed and connected by providing day-to-day insight into their own academic experience.
Students are able to:
- Email their teachers, stay on top of upcoming school events, classroom happenings, and academic performance via their own StudentVUE access, separate from ParentVUE
- Track graduation requirements and how many credits remain
- Receive notification when assignments are posted
- Store electronic files and assignments online with Digital Locker
Student accounts will become active at the start of the 2017-2018 school year.
