LINK CREW
LinkCrew™
is a highly successful program in place in high schools all over the
U.S. The program operates by organizing a group of selected campus
leaders--seniors and juniors--who act as mentors and positive role
models for freshmen students. These Link Leaders begin before the
school year with two days of extensive training. Then they lead
activities during an interactive frosh orientation where 9th graders
meet their Link Leaders, each other, and their school. Each freshman
student is assigned to a group of 10-12 other freshmen and one or two
Link Leaders. Link Leaders continue to support their student Crew by
meeting with them weekly, inviting them to school functions, and
assisting them academically. Through this program, the school is
expected to become a comfortable environment where new students find
support and success all year long, and continuing students find a
place where a positive, supportive attitude is encouraged and
reflected in their peers.
