Thank you for your interest in the Teacher Education Institute Teaching Credential Program, a collaborative project between the Elk Grove Unified School District and San Francisco State University. Coursework for the elementary and secondary credential programs is taken here in the Elk Grove Unified School District.

The Mission Statement of the Elk Grove Unified School District is:
The Elk Grove Unified School District will provide a learning community that challenges ALL students to realize their greatest potential.

The primary goal of the Teacher Education Institute credential program is to prepare effective teachers for the culturally and linguistically diverse classrooms of the district. Effective teachers have the ability to:
• teach to increasingly high standards for our students
• understand the developmental and cultural needs of our students
• develop appropriate curriculum
• manage the classroom
• plan, implement, and evaluate instruction in all subject areas
• work in a partnership with the parents and community
