Attendance Improvement Office
The Attendance Improvement Office (AIO) was formed by the Elk Grove Unified School District in 2015 with the desired intent to monitor and improve the attendance of all students within the district.
The AIO staff utilizes a number of different researched – based interventions that are designed to improve attendance and offer support in identified areas that may be impacting attendance.
The interventions may include:
- Documented student and parent communication by site staff and automated attendance letters
- Automated phone message and/or texts, parent communication by AIO staff
- Student Attendance Review Team (SART) meeting
- Student Attendance Review Board (SARB)
- Truancy Court through the Sacramento County Juvenile Court System
AIO regularly includes the regional SAFE Centers, district nurses, Foster Youth Services, drug and alcohol resources, and teen pregnancy services, EGUSD SEL Resources, and other non-profit community-based counseling services to assist with a variety of needs that may impact our students and their attendance.
