Academics

Elk Grove Unified teachers, staff and administrators strive to offer all students high-quality instruction in core subjects and in science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) fields. Every year, to further enrich the multiple subjects student are learning about, we look forward to teaching our students good study habits and self-discipline with the wellness motto: healthy minds, healthy bodies and healthy learning.

Our focus toward On-Grade Level Reading and use of our new Wonders English language arts curriculum gives our students the tools to develop excellent written and verbal communications skills and encourages them to think critically. Our concentration on improving math skills continues and we support our teachers by providing many professional learning opportunities and collaboration time, especially in professional learning communities (PLCs) where they work together to improve their craft and advance their teaching strategies. As educators, our top reason for making public education a career choice is to help every student learn in every classroom, in every subject, every day, and prepare them to be college and career ready.

All students in Elk Grove Unified are welcome to take advantage of the District’s Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) programs, Advanced Placement (AP), Honors, and International Baccalaureate classes and are invited to explore the many opportunities that are available through our academies and pathways. Students needing learning supports can also seek our English language learner programs and special education. We also provide a unique Native American Education Program that is well known through the United States.
