Who is eligible to enroll in the Classified School Employee Summer Assistance Program (CSESAP)?

To qualify to participate in CSESAP you must meet the following three qualifications to be eligible.
  1. Classified EGUSD employees hired in a permanent position for at least one year as of the election date of March 1, 2024.
  2. Be employed in a regular assignment with 240 workdays or less scheduled (11 months) out of a 12-month period.
    1. Employees who, in their permanent assignment, have workdays scheduled in each of the 12 calendar months, will not be eligible to participate–even if they are 11 month employees. There must be a minimum of one full calendar month of unpaid days to be eligible for the program. In other words, if you are on a calendar that is 240 workdays or fewer, you qualify. (see examples below)
Example 1: An employee’s regular assignment during the school year begins on August 15 and ends on June 20. The employee would meet the eligibility criteria in EC Section 45500(d)(3) because the employee’s regular assignment is for 11 months during the school year.

Example 2: An employee’s regular assignment during the school year begins on July 10 and ends on June 15. The employee would not meet the eligibility criteria in EC Section 45500(d)(3) because the employee’s regular assignment includes workdays in all 12 months of the calendar year.

  1. Have regular annual pay that is sixty-two thousand four hundred dollars ($62,400) or less for an entire school year at the time of enrollment.

Can I work during the summer and still qualify for the CSESAP?

Yes! As long as the employee’s work during the summer session is not part of the classified employee’s regular assignment.

Does a vacation payout count as a month worked?

No. Vacation payouts do not count as time worked. However, vacation days taken throughout the school year do count as time worked.

What if I am not sure how many days and/or months are in my work calendar?
