The Communications Department is responsible for media, community relations and district-wide communications. The department also produces many of Elk Grove Unified’s publications, newsletters and internet content.

In order to maintain a consistent, identifiable EGUSD brand, the district has developed brand guidelines that include approved district logos, colors and text formats.

EGUSD uses TalkingPoints as a simple and secure two-way messaging platform that helps families and teachers stay connected. It allows parents and guardians to communicate in their home language, making it easier to stay informed about their child’s education and progress.
Families can use TalkingPoints in three convenient ways:
- Send and receive text messages using the phone number registered in the district’s student information system
- Download the TalkingPoints for Families app from the Apple App Store or Google Play
- Access messages on the web at TalkingPoints for Families
Messages are automatically translated into more than 140 languages. Families receive messages in the language listed as their preferred correspondence language and can reply in any language. All replies are translated into English for school staff.
Synergy is EGUSD’s student information system, providing parents, students, and teachers with secure access to grades, attendance, class schedules, and more through ParentVUE, StudentVUE, and TeacherVUE. Learn more and access FAQs and login instructions for each portal.
SchoolMessenger is EGUSD’s primary communication platform for reaching families with timely and important updates, including emergency alerts. Parents can choose how they receive messages through phone calls, text messages, emails, or push notifications, and can access a personal message inbox from any device.
