Multilingual Education
Multilingual Education oversees the English Learner Program which provides instruction for all students who are developing English proficiency. Students receive instruction primarily in English and are provided with an English Language Development program. In addition, students receive sheltered instruction in the core content areas and primary language support as needed.
Programs
This program helps identify and place English Learner (EL) students in appropriate classes, provides instructional support and professional development for teachers, monitors student progress, and ensures students have access to a rigorous curriculum. It also engages families through translation services, parent involvement opportunities, and celebrates students’ achievements as they develop English proficiency and biliteracy.
